Wendi Isaacson is excited to join the faculty at Center Stage as their new tap instructor.
Wendi is currently a tap dance professor at Brigham Young University, and teaches at several studios around Utah including The Dance Club, Millennium Dance Complex, and Element Dance Center. She is a current and original member of the Foot Poetry Tap Company, directed by Colleen West.
As drill mistress of her high school’s drill team, she was responsible for choreographing all of their dance numbers, where they placed second in the state. After high school, she attended Brigham Young University, where she graduated with University Honors in English and Dance Education. As a senior at BYU, she was one of 3 dance students selected to represent BYU at the National Dance Festival in Tuscon, Arizona.
After graduating from college, Wendi taught middle school and high school for 6 years at both public and private schools. As the dance director at Discovery Academy Private School, she founded the dance program, developed specifically to nurture at-risk high school students, and choreographed and directed bi-annual recitals.
While teaching dance in Kentucky and coaching the school dance team, Wendi placed in the top three in the teacher’s freestyle division every year (alongside amazing, nationally recognized dance choreographers). Her team and solo choreography has won many awards at the state as well as national level.
Wendi has worked with and taught young children and teenagers for 20 years straight and loves the job of nurturing today’s youth. She is committed to teaching only the highest level of technique, and expects students to work hard, get along, and push themselves to achieve personal bests on a daily basis.
