Jan Ritchie
Jan Ritchie discovered her passion for dance
at the age of three. She began her dance instructing career
at the age of sixteen after twelve years of formal training
in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She has been a jazz, lyrical, and
hip hop instructor for twelve years in which she choreographed
for and taught performing dance companies. She has had numerous
opportunities choreographing half-time routines for high
school drill teams, cheerleaders, and song leaders and has
taught jazz technique for the Lone Peak High School Song
Leaders and the American Fork Cavettes Drill Team. She has
choreographed numerous Solos/Duets/Trios that have all placed
in the top three and many were awarded High Point.
Jan attended high school in American Fork, Utah where she
was the Drill Mistress and member of the American Fork Cavettes
Drill Team for three years choreographing the half-time
and competition pieces for her team. Jan was in the top
ten in the Miss Drill Team Utah Pageant her senior year
and graduated high school with high scholastic honors of
Magna Cum Laude. Jan was later crowned in the Miss American
Fork Royalty after performing a self-choreographed lyrical
routine. After her reign, she continued to coach contestants
and served as a committee member for the Miss American Fork
Scholarship Pageant overseeing the dance portion and production
numbers of the pageant. Jan attended Utah Valley State College
where she danced with the UVSC Dance Team and graduated
with an Associates of Applied Science degree in Desktop
Publishing and Medical Assisting.
After marrying her wonderful husband Ben, Jan went on to
open her own dance studio in American Fork, Utah in which
she thoroughly enjoyed. After taking a small break to raise
her young family, Jan is extremely excited to return to
the dancing scene and once again share her passion for dance
with others. Becoming a part of Center Stage Performing
Arts Studio’s staff is an honor for her because she
believes in the Center Stage mission and what they stand
for. She and her husband and their four children reside
in Pleasant Grove, Utah.
